Let's Talk Sensitivities

We hear this quite often:
“My dog is just sensitive.”

And sometimes that becomes the explanation for everything — the scratching, the soft stools, the fussy eating. It starts off small, and before long, it just feels normal.

But the truth is, it’s not always the dog. A lot of the time, it’s the food.

Most sensitivities come down to what’s going into the bowl. Too many protein sources, ingredients that are harder to digest, or foods that simply don’t suit your dog. Even with “premium” options, not every recipe works for every dog.

That’s why we kept Emperor simple. One main protein — chicken — and no beef, pork or fish. We also include hydrolyzed chicken liver, which helps with both digestibility and taste (so even the fussy ones tend to come around).

It’s not usually a dramatic overnight change. It’s small improvements that start to add up — calmer skin, better digestion, more consistent eating.

And that’s often when it clicks. Maybe the issue wasn’t just a “sensitive dog”… maybe it was a food that didn’t quite suit them.

If your dog has been struggling with sensitivities, it might be worth taking a closer look at what’s in their bowl. Sometimes, keeping things simple is exactly what they need.
